My Campus Life at UH M\u0101noa<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Hi everyone, My name is Naoki Itakura. As you can imagine from my name, I was actually born and raised in Japan. However, I am currently pursuing a Master\u2019s degree in University of Hawai\u2018i at Manoa. I have lived on Oahu since Fall 2021, when I started a Master\u2019s program in Second Language Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surrounded with an abundance of nature, I have enjoyed living here so far. Hawai\u2018i is really famous for rainbows. In fact, all the UH sports teams include the word \u201crainbow\u201d in their names (like the Rainbow Warriors and the Rainbow Wahine). I\u2019ve seen rainbows many times on campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, I plan to graduate in May. Though my time here is limited, I will enjoy the rest of my stay in Hawai\u2018i.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my free time, I enjoy watching sports games. In Oahu, UH sports teams are extremely popular among local people. I\u2019ve watched baseball and women\u2019s volleyball games several times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women\u2019s volleyball teams are so strong and popular in the State that they won a championship back in 2020? (I\u2019m not quite sure about the exact year \u2018:( Sports games are always enthusiastic in Oahu. I highly recommend you watch baseball or women\u2019s volleyball games when you visit Oahu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I mention in my self-introduction, I love watching baseball games!! Although I usually follow the Japanese professional baseball, I often watch MLB games. Since I used to live in Seattle when I was an undergraduate, I like Seattle Mariners. However, when it comes to a player, I am a big fan of Shohei Ohtani lol I fortunately watched his amazing homerun in Tokyo Dome when the Japan representative had a game against the Dutch representative. Since then, I have been attracted with Shohei. I have watching an Angels game in the Angel Stadium on my bucket list. One of my friends kindly bought me a Shohei\u2019s jersey. I really hope to visit Anaheim in my graduation trip and watch an Angels game wearing the jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was in Japan, I used to cook approximately three times a week. Yet, after I came to Oahu, I am really busy studying every day.
