From March 21 to March 24, 2026, I attended the American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) conference in Chicago, one of the largest gatherings in the field of applied linguistics. This conference offered only a limited number of presentation opportunities, and candidates were required to undergo a highly competitive selection process. I was selected on my second application, and I devoted considerable effort to preparing my presentation to make the most of this opportunity and avoid any regrets afterward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conference, I presented my MA research project, which I completed at the University of Hawai\u02bbi at M\u0101noa. My presentation, titled \u201cAudience Members as Language Brokers in a Live-Streamed Gaming Session,\u201d lasted 20 minutes. The audience provided thoughtful comments and valuable feedback, which helped refine my research and motivated me to pursue further studies. I also had the opportunity to connect with PhD students of similar ages and with researchers who have made innovative contributions to the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6700\u7d42\u65e5\u306e\u591c\u306b\u306f\u8857\u306b\u9762\u3057\u305f\u5ddd\u3092\u4e00\u5468\u3059\u308b\u30af\u30eb\u30fc\u30ba\u8239\u30c4\u30a2\u30fc\u306b\u53c2\u52a0\u3057\u3001\u7dba\u9e97\u306a\u591c\u666f\u3092\u76ee\u306b\u713c\u304d\u4ed8\u3051\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u30b7\u30ab\u30b4\u306f\u843d\u3061\u7740\u3044\u305f\u96f0\u56f2\u6c17\u3067\u3068\u3066\u3082\u826f\u3044\u8857\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3001\u65c5\u884c\u5148\u306b\u30aa\u30b9\u30b9\u30e1\u3067\u3059☺<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my free time during the conference, I explored downtown Chicago. Shortly after arriving in Chicago, I made my way to Wrigley Field, the home of the Chicago Cubs, a stadium I had long hoped to visit. Unfortunately, because the baseball season had not yet begun when the conference concluded, I was unable to attend a game. Nevertheless, I took several photographs outside the stadium and purchased some souvenirs before returning to my hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the final day of my trip, I joined a river cruise and was especially impressed by the city\u2019s night views. Chicago struck me as both vibrant and peaceful, and I would highly recommend it as a travel destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
