I\u2019ve been reflecting on what it means to find your passion. It\u2019s funny how the journey to discovering what truly drives you isn\u2019t always a straight path. For the longest time, I thought passion was something that just clicked instantly, like a switch flipping on, revealing a lifelong purpose. But the more I think about it, the more I realize it\u2019s something that grows with you, shaped by experiences, challenges, and even setbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve tried a lot of different things. Some I loved, and others didn\u2019t quite fit. For example, I once pursued Dental Hygiene, believing it was the right path for me. While it had its rewards, I realized that it wasn\u2019t something that truly sparked my enthusiasm. That insight led me to explore my deeper interests, which eventually brought me to studying Japanese at the University of Hawai\u2019i at Manoa. It wasn\u2019t an instant or easy decision, but it felt like a natural step toward something that resonated more with who I am and what I value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each step, whether it was a small success or a moment of doubt, has helped me figure out what makes me feel alive. The key, I think, is curiosity. Staying curious about the world around me, about people, about learning, and about myself has guided me toward what I care about most. It’s not about having a single, unchanging passion, but rather about discovering new layers of interest that keep evolving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s become clear is that my passion involves helping others grow. It\u2019s the reason I feel drawn to teaching, the reason I enjoy being a positive force in people\u2019s lives. That desire to see others succeed, to push them to be better versions of themselves, that\u2019s where my passion truly lies. Every small moment, every connection, builds on that. I guess it\u2019s not something you \u201cfind\u201d all at once, but something you grow into, as long as you\u2019re open to the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m excited to keep exploring this path, knowing that each day is an opportunity to nurture that passion and let it guide my actions. My transition from studying Dental Hygiene to pursuing Japanese reflects that journey. How each experience, whether it feels like a step forward or a step back, ultimately shapes where you are meant to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s alright if you haven\u2019t decided what you want to do yet. I understand there\u2019s a lot of pressure to find a job, go to school, earn money, and more. But that\u2019s not what life\u2019s all about. It\u2019s perfectly fine not to have everything figured out yet. There are countless opportunities and possibilities ahead. You have plenty of time to figure things out. This feeling is normal, and eventually, you will discover your passion and what brings you happiness, leading you to where you\u2019re meant to be.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
