3 Recommended Surfing Spots on Oahu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The island of Oahu is known for many attractions. One of them being surfing. There are many spots on the island that cater to this attraction. Most people would describe surfing as a sport and a fun past time. However, I like to call it my \u201cstress relief\u201d. In this journal I will list three of my favorite spots that I like to go surfing. These beaches are also very good starting places for those that are beginning their surfing journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Old Man\u2019s<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Old Man\u2019s is located in the heart of Waikiki. It is one of the more common places for first timers to surf because it has shallow waters, and the waves are never too rough. This beach is my number one recommended spot for visitors because everyone at this beach is either a visitor or a first timer surfer. This allows for newcomers to be more comfortable with their surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in historic Haleiwa town, this spot is also a popular spot for surfing. This place is perfect for those that like to surf with long boards. Long boards are mostly used by beginners and helps them be comfortable on a board. This is a very long beach. So, when the waves break, they tend to turn left and right longer. This means that you have very smooth waves to ride all the way to the shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Chun\u2019s Reef<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Chun\u2019s is my most favorite place to surf. It is in the North Shore of the island. It is always crowded with many surfers and beach goers. However, it is one of the deeper places to surf. The deep reef allows for bigger waves to form. That means more waves to ride! This spot is recommended for intermediate surfers, but beginners can still surf here. This place is a good place to show off your skills and to move up to the next level of surfing if you are confident in your skills and yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to surfing there is no correct way to start. If you have the right attitude and respect the ocean and its power, then you will be ok. Have an open mind and don\u2019t be afraid to ask people for help when you need it. Once you start, I promise you will be addicted for life! Who knows, maybe one day I might see one of you out there on the water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
